Graduate perception on the Undergraduate Medical Curriculum

Introduction: Graduate perception is supreme in assessing the effectiveness of Undergraduate medical curriculum. The curriculum Faculty Medicine, University Colombo consists Basic Sciences Stream, Applied Community Medicine Behavioral Stream and Clinical Stream. Quality assessment improvement programs similar to this study are undertaken routinely ensure optimum teaching. Objective: To assess recent graduates regarding overall MBBS curriculum, outcome programme career goals, administration, services provided, infrastructure opportunities. Methodology: population consisted 198 with a response rate 66.1%. A used self-administered questionnaire was used. Results: Majority participants had positive impression (96.2%). Overall agreement academic that learning outcomes, teaching activities examinations matched appropriately all streams. While it suggested focus more on clinically relevant subjects throughout. final year professorial clerkships were identified as stressful by considerable proportion graduates, but highly dependent discipline. However ability manage emergencies satisfaction rated overall. satisfied examination procedure although students have also agreed they been treated unfairly examiners.
